Nestled in the serene hills of Chhota Shimla, Sanjiv’s Aira Holme Retreat is a charming homestay that beautifully blends history with modern comfort. Originally built in 1870 as Morefield Grange, this stone-walled residence has been lovingly preserved and decorated to reflect its vintage charm. Two cosy rooms are on offer, one with an attached sitout and the other without, but with wraparound bay windows that offer views of the surrounding valley and deodar forest. Aira Holme has only two double bedrooms {with attached bathrooms}. Through French doors, the first bedroom opens onto a private balcony overlooking Shimla’s well-known Tara Devi temple, and the surrounding valley expanse. The second bedroom has a large bay window overlooking the valley and is filled with warm natural light. There is an attic, a cosy living room {that makes you feel at home} and multiple outdoor sitting areas, amongst the trees. Dinner can be arranged on request.
Located far enough from the rumbling town and surrounded by deodars, this cottage is as lovely as its dwellers. Overlooking the valley, it gives you a breathtaking view of the Tara Devi temple with Chail and its woods. Laze around in the manicured gardens, read a book in the cosy attic or play a game of catch with the three friendly doggies. You can also gain access to a large and welcoming library, or lounge in the fragrant, lush gardens of the cottage. The bedrooms offer you a stunning view of the valley from the windows and are cheerful with plenty of sunlight. Spend your days relaxing in the various outdoor sitting areas where you can sit amongst deodar and apricot trees and enjoy your tea. The charming home promises you memorable conversations, spectacular sunsets, colourful foliage, interesting books and paintings.
