Slow and soft music is okay, but please do not play loud music. You are in the middle of nature and a village.

Services of the staff are available until 10:00 pm
We follow a strict no-smoking policy inside the house. You may ask the caretaker for an ashtray and smoke outside the house if you need to.

Pets:
Pets are not allowed.

Wifi and Connectivity:
There is a good 4G connectivity for Airtel and Jio users, unless the weather is bad. Anyone who needs dedicated connection should carry an Airtel/Jio Sim and it works very good. We don’t have WiFi connection facility.

Cancellation Policy:

45 – 30 days prior to check-in date – 50 % of full amount would be charged as retention

31 – 16 days prior to check-in date – 75 % of full amount would be charged as retention

15 Days prior to check-in date – 100% of full amount would be charged as retention.

Bookings made for long weekends, festivals and blackout periods (sold-out dates, special festivals, Christmas & New Year) are non-refundable and non-changeable.

Getting There:

By Road:
The nearest major bus terminus Shillong is situated 35Kms from the village. You can hire a taxi or public transport also to reach the village.

By Train
The nearest railway station is Guwahati Railway Station, which is 73Kms away.

By Air
The nearest airport – Umroi Airport (Shillong Airport) is situated 32Kms from the village. You can hire a taxi or public transport.

We will share the exact directions upon confirmation. We have pickup, drop facility from the Airport/Railway Station, which are chargeable additionally.
We also offer accommodation for the drivers at the property at an additional cost. Please inform us at the time of booking so that appropriate arrangements can be made.

The Stay:

Located at one of the most unspoilt, untouched places in Meghalaya, the Sanctuary Song in Umsning, is definitely a heaven for the nature lovers, especially for people who want to leave the busy city-life for few days and want to spend their time in the greens.
Sanctuary Rooms
This block of 3(three) cottages, with 2(two) rooms in each cottage, is located in the main resort area and all the cottages are placed within a natural forested area.
Unwind Cottage
Located a little away from the main resort area, The “Unwind” Cottage houses 2(two) guest rooms furnished with a Queen sized bed and a fold out Sofa-cum-bed, with an attached bath that has hot and cold running water. An independent and spacious Living area separates the two rooms to allow our guests to Unwind.
R E Russell Lodge
An independent bungalow, located slightly away from the main resort area is perfect for groups of families or friends. 2(two) rooms have a Queen sized bed and a single bed, with an attached bath that has hot and cold running water. The lodge also has a separate kitchen in case guests would like to do their own cooking or would like to experience the local cuisine of the area.
Camping
Within the property itself, is a campsite that we have designed for those that a little more adventurous and would like to spend a night outdoors. Clean toilets, a bonfire area and a little Tree House are all within the campsite. Parking for vehicles is also available in the area.

Local villagers are always eager to welcome visitors and share heartfelt stories of the simple mountain way of life. Day 1: Guwahati – Rtiang/ Sohliya
Arrival at Guwahati Airport / Guwahati Station. Meet and greet by our local representative. Drive to Rtiang Village near Sohliya. Transfer to stay. Post lunch go for a Village Walk or Strawberry Plantation Walk.
Evening free at leisure. Overnight stay at Rtiang Village.

Day 2: Cherrapunjee via Umiam Lake
Morning go for Birding. After breakfast check-out and drive to Cherrapunjee. In the mystical embrace of Meghalaya, where clouds gather like old friends, lies Cherrapunjee—a place where rain isn’t just a weather phenomenon; it’s a symphony. Perched on the edge of the Himalayas, the city cradles its clouds. Enroute halt at Umiam Lake and go for boating. Flanked by hills on all sides and lined by striking roadways and bridges, the picturesque Umiam Lake is all time favourite for many who come here to admire the landscape. Drive to Shillong Peak and Elephant Falls, two of the most iconic tourist attractions of Shillong. Further drive to Cherrapunjee. Transfer to stay.

Day 3: Cherrapunjee (Sightseeing)
After breakfast go for Local Tour of Cherrapunjee covering Nohkalikai Falls, Seven Sisters Waterfall, Mawsmai Cave, Arwah Cave, Dainthlen Falls and Thangkharang Park.
Evening free at leisure. Overnight stay at Cherrapunjee.

Day 4: Cherrapunjee – Shillong
After breakfast check-out and drive to Shillong. Dubbed the “Eastern Scotland” for its remarkable resemblance to the Scottish Highlands, Shillong offers an enchanting mix of old-world allure, stunning scenery, and a deep-rooted cultural legacy. Cradled by the undulating hills and verdant foliage of Meghalaya, this natural wonder provides an exhilarating retreat into the embrace of nature, establishing itself as a perfect haven for both thrill-seekers and those searching for tranquillity. Go for Local Tour of Shillong Wards Lake, Botanical Garden, Don Bosco Museum & Laitlum Canyons. Transfer to stay.
Evening visit the vibrant local market of Shillong. Overnight stay at Shillong.

Day 5: Shillong – Dawki & Mawlynnong Excursion
After breakfast depart for Dawki and Mawlynnong. The tour includes a visit to the mystical little village of Mawlynnong known for its award titled the ‘cleanest village in Asia’ by Discover India in 2003 and visit to Dawki, another gem of a place – truly a visual delight of Umngot River which holds the status of being one of the ‘cleanest rivers in India’

Day 6: Shillong – Kaziranga
After breakfast check-out and drive to Kaziranga, home to the world’s largest population of the magnificent one-horned rhinoceros. The national park is also a UNESCO World Heritage site. Evening visit the Orchid Park to experience the live cultural show by tribes of Assam.
Overnight stay at Kaziranga.
