We follow a strict no-smoking policy inside the house. You may ask the caretaker for an ashtray and smoke outside the house if you need to.
Follow local customs and traditions while interacting with villagers. Support community-based tourism initiatives by engaging with local artisans/handicraftsman, businesses, temples and nature.

Wifi and Connectivity:
There is a good 4G connectivity for Airtel and Jio users, unless the weather is bad. Anyone who needs dedicated connection should carry an Airtel/Jio Sim and it works very good.We don’t have WiFi connection facility and no telivisions.
Cancellation Policy:
45 – 30 days prior to check-in date – 50 % of full amount would be charged as retention
31 – 16 days prior to check-in date – 75 % of full amount would be charged as retention
15 Days prior to check-in date – 100% of full amount would be charged as retention.

Bookings made for long weekends, festivals and blackout periods (sold-out dates, special festivals, Christmas & New Year) are non-refundable and non-changeable.

Getting There:
By Road:
From Tezpur:
Thembang to Tezpur is a roughly 270–300 kms, 8–10 hrs road journey through challenging, mountainous terrain in Arunachal Pradesh.
From Dirang:
Thembang is located 27 km from Dirang and requires traveling 14–15 kms off the main road, on a narrow road.
From Guwahati:
The road distance from Thembang (West Kameng district, Arunachal Pradesh) to Guwahati (Assam) is approximately 350 to 400 kilometers. The journey typically takes 10 to 12 hours, traveling through hilly terrain and offering scenic views of the Eastern Himalayas.
By Train
Nearest major railway station is Rangapara North Junction (RPN) in Assam, 212 kms away.
By Air
The closest international airport is Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati, Assam (approx. 300-380 km away).

We will share the exact directions upon confirmation. We have pickup, drop facility from the Airport/Railway Station, which are chargeable additionally.
We also offer accommodation for the drivers at the property at an additional cost. Please inform us at the time of booking so that appropriate arrangements can be made.

Nestled in the quiet folds of Ramgarh’s misty hills, Khrajap is a traditional stay that embodies the essence of the local tradition and hospitality. Built using local stone, wood, and mud, its architecture reflects the timeless charm of the region’s vernacular style. With thoughtfully designed rooms—basic but with modern fittings—the stay offers the guests a tranquil escape to an ancient fortified 12th century Dzong. Further, Thembang is a protected archaeological monument under the care of the Archaeological Section, Research Department, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh and the village also makes it to the tentative list of UNESCO World Heritage Convention. From organically sourced local cuisine to the warmth of heritage hospitality, every experience at the stay celebrates the rich legacy and natural beauty of the local tribal community.

To Experience:

The richness in heritage structures found in this village makes the village of Thembang a monument by itself. The village and Dzong of Thembang maintain almost all aspects of Authenticity and Integrity including its pristine setting. Apart from the architecture of the village, Thembang is also rich in biodiversity which includes red panda which is an endangered species found in the Thembang forest. The 50-odd households that live here are surrounded by a medieval fortification and many other ancient monuments. Interestingly it is not these historic structures, but the way of life of the people of Thembang, that has attracted attention.

To See:
Gori Chen Mountain: For birding enthusiasts, Thembang is an enchanting haven. Blood pheasants, monals, tragopans and other kinds of birds flock the alpine meadows on a regular basis.
Local Treks: One can also embark on many a trek, making Thembang a base. Trek your way to the idyllic village of Pangma and walk alongside clouds if you decide to go to the Semnak Village. To experience magnificent views of the Gorichen Peaks head to Chander, sitting at a lofty 3000m. Across these trails, you’ll find a peculiar pattern of stone benches cropping up every now and then, after every four kilometres. Usually, Buddhist chants are engraved on the stones and at the entrance to every village, there is a prayer wheel and a rotating water turbine which the locals believe to keep away the evil spirits.
Bailey Trail Trek: Thembang village is also the starting point and the base camp of the popular Bailey Trail trek of the Himalayas. Spanning across miles of meadows and coniferous forests, dizzying viewpoints and charming campsites, this trek, steeped in culture will also let you witness vibrant affairs such as the local tribal operas and yak dances.
Village Heritage Walks: A guided walk inside the ancient village will help you to experience the richness in heritage structures found in this village making Thembang a monument by itself. There’s also a renovated gompa (Buddhist temple) on the hilltop of the village, where traditional wood carvings and manuscripts have been carefully preserved. The village is ornamented with carved stone blocks, mani walls (stone walls with prayers engraved on them) and paintings etched as graffiti along the houses and ancient ruins.
Cuisine On Offer: At Thembang, the cuisine comprises of a medley of odd vegetables and the most flavoursome meats. Be sure to try the staples, such as the extremely delectable yak meat dishes. But keep an eye out for the delicately-steamed bamboo shoot that is a sheer delight.
