This Gurudwara has a prayer hall, Langar and a museum. It was established and managed by an Indian army to commemorate the visit of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji on his journey to Tibet between 1516-1517. Across the Gurudwara, there is a Guru Nanak Taposthan known to have impressions of Guru Nanak Ji. To enter Taposthan, you need to pass through a narrow passage in the mountain that opens into an enchanting forest by the riverside. Mechuka La Trek

Embark on an unforgettable journey in the heart of Menchuka Valley—Menchuka-La Trek. The Menchukha La is one of the many surrounding mountains where a hike to the top can give a person the bird’s eye view of Mechuka town. The trek starts from the Bumjipanga bridge, outside the main town. If you ever want to disappear into nature for a bit, this is the place.

Mechuka Horse Ride

Long before roads reached this remote land, horses were Mechuka’s lifeline. They carried salt, rice, and other essentials across high mountain passes for trade with Tibet. Even today, as they roam the meadows of Mechuka, the horses are more than just a picturesque sight, they are living reminders of the valley’s history, heritage, and identity. They graze around the grasslands on the hills. Local communities use them for carrying goods from villages to the town. You can also get a taste of horse rides along the country sides of Mechuka

Traditional Cooking Class

The Memba community’s food is deeply influenced by their Tibetan roots. You can get a chance to participate in traditional food activities—such as making momos, preparing wooden pressed noodles or learning about the use of fermented bamboo shoots and churpee (yak cheese) in local cooking. It’s an experience that goes beyond the plate, offering insight into the community’s connection with their land and traditions.

Pasighat Hanging Bridge

If you’re an adrenaline junkie, hanging bridges are sure to get your heart racing! Suspended high above the ground, these bridges provide stunning views of the landscape below, swaying a little as you walk to the other end of rivers or ravines. You will enjoy the Hanging Bridge at Pongging unless you are not scared of height and a moving see-through bamboo floor. And the fear of taking one wrong step is enough to keep your adrenaline at its peak!
