Day 01

Dimapur Airport to Kohima

Arrival at Dimapur airport and drive to Kohima. Transfer to stay on arrival.
Evening visit the local market.

Day 02

The Battle of Kohima Tour

The full day Battle of Kohima Tour includes a guided walk around the famous Kohima Ridge in which we will cover the main positions of battle such as Jail Hill, DIS, FSD, Kuki Picquet and Garrison Hill. The walk culminates at the Kohima War Cemetery where, among others, one can still see the outline of the tennis court around which fierce fighting raged in 1944. We will also visit, besides others, Hill 5120, Aradura Spur and the famous Kohima Cathedral

Go for local tour of Kohima – War Cemetery, Nagaland State Museum and the Kohima Zoo.

Day 03

Jakhama, Kigwema and Khonoma Excursion

This morning visit the villages of Jakhama and Kigwema which are inhabited by the Angami tribe. Located south of Kohima, both villages are encircled by terraced paddy fields each with a traditional entrance gate and the customary Angami houses. Afterwards, continue onto the village of Khonoma. It was here that the Naga warriors made their last stand against the British in 1879. Return to Kohima.

Day 04

Kohima to Imphal

Drive to Imphal after breakfast along the Imphal-Kohima Road. This road was built in 1944 – and remains today – Manipur’s lifeline and main connection to the outside world. On the way to Imphal we will see the Kohima WWII Museum, the historic Milestone 109 where the two arms of the British Army linked up, battlefields, a war memorial and a WWII era airfield. On arrival visit Govindjee Temple & Kwhairamband Keithel (Ima Market). Transfer to stay.

Day 05

Imphal-The Tiddim Road Tour

After breakfast head out of Imphal on the Tiddim Road. This tour takes in the only Japanese Memorial to the War in India, battlefields, the only Indian National Army (INA) Memorial Complex in the world at Moirang and the Loktak Lake, the largest freshwater lake in northeast India. We will also visit the recently opened Imphal Peace Museum built at the base of Red Hill – one of the main battlefields on the Tiddim Road.

Day 06

Imphal - The Battle of Imphal Tour

Full day tour to see the WWII related sites in and around Imphal. This includes a visit to Nungshigum – the nearest battlefield from Imphal, Runaway Hill, the two WWII cemeteries maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC), the historic Kangla fort where we can see General Slim’s Cottage and also listen to the story of the Anglo-Manipuri War 1891.

Day 07

Visit to Moreh, Myanmar (Full day Operation)

Today after early breakfast full day excursion to Moreh – A small town along the India – Myanmar border. Entry to Tamu – village in Myanmar (allowed staying till 2 Pm Myanmar standard time). You need to obtain passes to get entry into the Myanmar. Same will be assisting by our assistant. Later drive back to Imphal.

Departure

After breakfast, tour ends drop at Imphal Airport.

  • Deposit and Payment:
    A deposit of 60% per person is required upon booking. This deposit forms part of the final payment. However, a payment of deposit does not constitute confirmation of the tour. Rest of the payment is required 15 days before departure. Failure to comply with this may result in an automatic cancellation of your reservation and forfeiture of your deposit
  • Methods of Payment:
    Methods of payment are cash or bank transfer or UPI. All major international currencies are accepted, the exchange rate being determined at the sole discretion of Himalayan Rural Stays and updated periodically. Exchange rates so set are final and non-negotiable. Whatever the method of payment, payments must have to be cleared in our account by the payment deadline
  • Refund/ Compensation:
    No refunds, either in part or in full, will be made for unused air tickets, ground transportation, meals, accommodation, car rental or sightseeing tours not taken. No compensation will be made in case of rail/ road blocks, general strikes, cancellation of flight/ bus/ train services by the respective authorities. No compensation will be made as a result of Force Majeure (unforeseen circumstances beyond human control, e.g. war, civil strike, landslides, earthquake, floods). The Company can accept no responsibilities for loss or any additional expenses to travelers due to delay, changes in schedule or extended stay or extra vehicle services enjoyed by the passengers
  • Assistances will be provided by our operations team against additional charges
  • Starting Point is at Dimapur Airport and End Point is at Imphal Airport
